Not every tired lawn needs sod. Where the root base is still alive and the problem is thin coverage or poor soil, screened topsoil and the right seed will bring it back for a fraction of the cost. The soil goes down at an even depth, gets raked in, and the seed is spread at label rate rather than thrown by hand.
Seed choice matters more than most homeowners are told. A sun blend on a shaded north side will not germinate well no matter how much water it gets. Lawrence picks the blend to match the light your property actually has, which often means two different mixes on the same lawn.
The best windows on Long Island are late summer into early fall, and again in early spring. Work scheduled outside those windows is still worth doing in some cases, and he will tell you honestly when it is better to wait.
