About This Service
Mulch does three jobs: it holds moisture in the soil, it keeps weeds down, and it makes a bed read as finished from the street. It only does those jobs if it goes down at the right depth over a bed that was edged and weeded first. Laid thin it disappears by July. Laid too thick against trunks and stems it rots them.
Every mulch job here starts with a fresh cut edge and a weed pull, then two to three inches of mulch spread evenly and pulled back off the base of plants and tree trunks. Beds are measured so the delivery matches the property rather than leaving you with half a yard sitting on the driveway.
Most properties in Carle Place and the surrounding towns get one mulch install a year, usually in spring, with a light touch up in late summer if the beds are in full sun.
